Bill Withers one of my personal favorite singers is the artist that I picked for the project that I am doing. One of his most popular songs is called lean on me. The song was made in 1971 and was a huge hit. The song is about that everybody has to have somebody to lean on when you are fealling down or you are going through troubles that you want to talk about. In the song it says " Just call ojn me brotherwhem you need a hand we all need somebody to lean on. That was the chorus of his song and it means something to every body in the world.
This song relates to me because I am allways trying to help friends that are in trouble or they are going to get into trouble. I kind of help them through their troubles and struglles. It's kind of like saying " lean on me when your not strong .
I think that this song relates to our society because everybody has to have somebody to quote on quote lean on when they are fealling down. Our society has alot of rumors and people that will try to hurt you and your fealings.Sometimes when I am walking I see people who are doing bad things to others and I think that the people who are getting hurt should have somebody to lean on as well as the people who was hurting the person.

Bill Withers
In West Virginia under the fire works of july 4th 1938 Bill Withers was born . Bill Withers lived in a small town and wasn't the richest person you could know .When he was only a 13 year old his dad died so he was practicly raised by his grandma and mom .He was the youngest of six children so it must have been hard for his mom and grandma to raise so many kids in a small town with they're dad dead .
After he came out of the military in 1967 he moved to Los Angles California where he started his carrer.With his journals full of good songs that he never knew were going to be a big hit . Even thoe he had good demos recorded it seamed nobody to have intereats in them. The songs he sang were about life and his intearests and they werent dumb or about love like all the other singers .
By 1971 Bill Withers had released record lables wich sold millions within the first couple of months .signed to Sussex Records, Withers’ talent was evidenced by all with the 1971 release of his debut album just as I am . One of his biggest hits from the 70's was one of my favorite songs and the lyrics that I picked was the song lean on me .
Bill Withers once said "I write and sing about whatever I am able to understand and feel. I feel that it is healthier to look out at the world through a window than through a mirror. Otherwise, all you see is yourself and whatever is behind you."I think that statment is true and so thats why I wrote about Bill Withers .
